Coln Cinema is back with a bang for 2022 – with No Time to Die that some critics reckon to be the best James Bond yet and certainly with a more sensitive (woke?) hero. It stars Daniel Craig, playing Bond for the last time, Rami Malek, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, Lea Seydoux and Ralph Fiennes. As it’s a marathon movie (163 minutes!), we’re starting half an hour earlier than usual on Friday 21 January. The bar with wine and soft drinks will be open from 6.30pm and the film begins at 7pm.
Sadly, as another year begins under the cloud of Covid, we’ll continue to take steps to ensure a safe venue – restricting numbers to 35, so we can space out the chairs; recommending people take a lateral flow test on the morning of the film; and wearing masks if they wish. So if you’d like to join us please reserve a seat by emailing, phoning, or texting Nick Brett on email@example.com or 07713 981 753. And please check the What’s Happening website for our villages – www.whichq.net – for the latest updates.
Thanks to Angie Bray and Nigel Hugh-Smith, Coln Cinema, takes place in Vicarage Cottage Barn, Coln St Aldwyns. The entrance is through the gate on the left as you enter the churchyard, but do bring a torch to find your way safely.
Coln Cinema is a charity, so we ask each of you for a £4 donation when you arrive.
